Something is wrong with your pregnancy: would you know what to do?

It’s 11PM MST and the telephone rings, when most around the country are either already in bed or settling in for the night. The caller’s voice sounds strained, frantic, and tired. She has just received news at a routine check-up earlier in the day that something isn’t quite right with her pregnancy --- her first. The voice she hears is likely that of Michelle Somers, calm and consoling, reassuring her that accurate information and proper treatment is vital to the success and overall health of her unborn child.

Our TTTS Miracles

Our story began in early March 2007 when we found out that we were expecting not one, but TWO babies. We were completely shocked but overjoyed and excited to start our family. Hayley & Jamie's TTTS Journey

Hayley and Jamie Marek’s journey with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome began in December 2006 when Hayley found out she was pregnant. This news came at a transitional time in their lives, as they were in the midst of planning a move to a new city and starting new jobs. At that time Hayley was working as a labor and delivery nurse at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in Kirkland, WA. Working at Evergreen had given Hayley some exposure to TTTS.  She had seen some of the heartbreaking outcomes that can come from TTTS. More ...
