In July of 2004, my daughter Lauren was diagnosed with non-immune hydrops at 32 weeks.  She was born via c-section and had a ton of fluid in her lungs and body.  Lauren stayed in the NICU for 7 weeks and lived. She is completely normal despite severe asthma. All of the tests and bloodwork revealed "no cause" for the hydrops.  Lauren was deemed a ""miracle" by all of the doctors and nurses in the NICU.  She should not be alive because of the severity of her condition.  I do give props to all of the doctors/nurses at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. But more importantly, I give all of the credit/glory to God for healing her.

My question to anyone out there is this: Has anyone ever had hydrops with "no cause."  I want to know what caused this condition but have no answer.  I have since had another child who was born no complications. My heart goes out to those families who have lost babies to hydrops. I want to create more awareness for this condition because it is releatively unknown to many people.  My 2nd questions: Is there a correlation between asthma (more specifically cough variant asthma and hydrops). Thanks.
